The subject of art is a really interesting topic. Everything about it is open for debate… from the hidden meanings behind each of the artist’s paintings to the most appropriate sum to pay for a work of art. Even the interpretation of the finished masterpiece is open for discussion, as different people can have different opinions and feelings about the same piece.

Spending A Day at MASiF 2011
The Music, Art, Style International Festival (MASiF) 2011 is an event that celebrates the three different categories of art – fine art, fashion and music. One of the activities organised as an effort to cultivate a better understanding of Fine Art was the Public Programmes held at Galeri Petronas. The three programmes that was held on the 16th and 17th September were ‘An Evening with Amri Ginang‘, where participants were given an opportunity to be up close and personal with one of Malaysia’s pioneer photographers, Amri Ginang and ‘Fusion of Passion : Walk With The Artist‘, where some of Malaysia’s best painters, photographers, sculptors and illustrators talk about their latest works that are currently on display at Galeri Petronas. Fusion of Passion
This year’s Malaysia Day was celebrated on a grand scale, unlike the years before. Various activities were held by many organisations, including state and the federal governments, as well as other entities, all united in the celebration of the country that we live in. Chief among the celebrations was MASiF 2011 – the Music, Arts, Style, International Festival – at Suria KLCC. Among the highlights of the festival was an art exhibition at Galeri Petronas which has recently come to a close entitled Fusion of Passion.

This year’s Music, Art, Style, International Festival (MASiF) 2011 was recently held at KLCC from the 15th till 17th September 2011. This three day festival which encompasses the various categories of arts was held in various locations within KLCC. The festival started with a glitzy launch that is perhaps better suited to be described through photographs.

Art is unique because of its subjectivity. It can be both pleasing and repulsive, depending on the viewer. A good piece of art is able to evoke emotions and elicit a response from those who view it, while a great piece of art’s fame and renown lasts nearly forever. To the average Malaysian, art may seem only to be appreciated within certain circles of local society, but that perception has begun to change.
