There is always something about culture related events that never fails to catch my attention. Maybe it is the anticipation of discovering new things about our diverse culture… or maybe it is the colourful costumes and lively music that never fails to capture my attention. Rediscovering Old Penang

It was a very, very hot Saturday afternoon as I made my way towards Ah Quee Street for the Penang Chinese New Year Cultural and Heritage Celebration that was being held there. This is an annual event held in conjunction with the Chinese New Year celebration in Penang. Anticipating a huge crowd of tourists on foot and a possible headache of finding my way out of that place later, I decided to park my car further away from the Heritage Site in Georgetown and walk there. But first of all, I need a cool and refreshing drink to rejuvenate myself before I plod on under the hot sun…
