Malaysian Craft Promotion 2011

Malaysian Craft Promotion 2011

Hand-crafted items, be it for decorative or functional purposes, are often a sight to behold. A simple looking piece of craft, for example the wood pieces with Holy Quranic inscriptions that are often used in Malay households may take up to four or five days to complete it. Two weeks ago, I could not help but notice a government convoy of vans and SUVs parked in front of Bukit Bintang Plaza, with a group of volunteers handing out mini flags that can be attached to vehicles to the public. Of course, they were rather hard not to notice as the event, if you call it that, was accompanied by the loud blaring song about Jalur Gemilang. Come to think of it, I have been hearing it played while waiting for the LRT as well this month.
