This package takes you to one of the most diverse ecosystems in the world, Kinabalu National Park. A UNESCO World Heritage Site, the park showcases a wide range of habitats, from tropical rainforests, subalpine forests on its mountain ranges and scrub on higher elavations. Mount Kinabalu, one of the highest mountains in South East Asia, is also within the park boundaries. Rest in luxury at the Poring Hot Springs, a famous natural attraction at the park.
Itinerary
Day 1: Kota Kinabalu to Poring Hot Springs
The day begins with a drive from Kota Kinabalu inland through the Crocker Range to the Kinabalu Park Headquarters. From there, relax as a 45 minute drive takes you towards your first stop, the Poring Hot Springs. Take the time to soak in a hot sulphur bath at the hot springs and enjoy the beauty of nature as you walk along the treetop canopy walkway and visit the Kipungit Waterfall.
Finally, unwind at your hotel in Kundasang in the evening.
Day 2: Kinabalu National Park
Leaving Kundasang in the morning, you head towards the Kinabalu Park Headquarters to explore the park. There is much to admire for those who love nature here, as the park is known for the abudance and diversity of its plant life. Admire the various species of flowering rhodendendrons, ferns and pitcher plants during your visit to the park's Mountain Garden, a natural paradise in full bloom. Wander along a beautiful nature trail winding through the Montane oak forests, a rare sight in a tropical country and finally bid goodbye as you leave for Kota Kinabalu in the afternoon.
What to bring: Raincoat, insect repellent, water bottle. For those who wish to dip in the pool, bring swim wear, towel & toiletries
