Just west of the old city centre, the Kuala Lumpur City Centre, or better known as KLCC, is an ambitious development project that covers over 18 million square feet, with a mix of commercial, retail and residential buildings built around a 20 hectare park known as KLCC Park.

KLCC is one of the most visited areas in the city as the project includes the iconic 88 storey Petronas Twin Towers, Suria KLCC, the city's premier shopping mall, and the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre. While many come to admire the spectacular twin spires, others spend hours lost blissfully in the six level shoppers' paradise that is Suria KLCC. The mall offers a wide range of high end luxury products, and also houses Galeri Petronas, an art gallery dedicated to contemporary Malaysian art. The Petronas Philharmonic Hall, where the Malaysian Philharmonic Ochestra performs, is located within the Petronas Twin Towers.

Two luxury hotels located within the precinct provide accomodation for visitors who choose to stay at KLCC. The Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre has certainly lived up to its expectations as a venue capable of hosting regional and international conventions and exhibitions. In addition to over 100,000 square feet of exhibition space, the centre also has a 3,000 seat Plenary Hall, theatre, a grand ballroom and the necessary supporting facilities. The city's 60,000 square metre indoor aquarium, Aquaria KLCC is also located at the centre.
