Be prepared for an entire day of fun in the sun during the Penang Beach Carnival 2010 at Batu Ferringhi. This fun filled carnival will return this 18 December after a successful run the previous year before, and will offer visitors a chance to try their hand at nearly 20 activities, including sandcastle building, tug of war and beach volleyball. The carnival will take place at the Golden Sands Beach Resort beachfront from 7am till 11pm.

There will also be a number of contests held on the day, including a photography competition, co-organised by the Photography Society of Penang, that is open to everyone including foreigners. Participants will be judged by pictures taken during the carnival and will be required to submit these pictures in 5R size together with a soft copy in CD with JPEG format of at least 5MB at 300dpi to the Penang Sports Council or the society. The entry fee is RM10 per person and entry forms can be downloaded from the council’s website. Prizes include top prizes of RM 1,000, RM800 and RM500 and 10 consolation prizes of RM50.

A number of demonstrations will also be held all throughout the carnival. These include the renowned Chingay performance and kite flying. And one of the main highlights will be the Mr. Beach Carnival contest, where buffed up contestants will vie for the honour of being the most desirable hunk on the beach! So put on that t-shirt and don’t forget your slippers as you head on over to the Penang Beach Carnival 2010 on the 18th of December!
