The indigenous Rungus people of northern Borneo still live in the traditional longhouses which have been their homes for centuries.

Built on stilts to accommodate flood season, each of these hardy wooden buildings can house numerous families of a particular tribe.

Visitors to the Maranjak longhouse just outside of Kudat in Sabah can see the traditional Rungus crafts of basket weaving and beadwork, and perhaps even take in a traditional dance performance.
