Visitors to Ipoh will enjoy easy access to an array of religious sites, including churches, temples and more. The city includes a population consisting of various religious dominations. Perak Tong Cave Temple
The Perak Tong Cave Temple is famous throughout all of Malaysia and ranks as one of its most known tourist attractions. Discovered in 1926 by Chinese immigrants, the limestone cavity was transformed into a stunning temple with a 40-foot-tall golden Buddha. Visitors passing through the cave will see various murals and Chinese calligraphy. The temple also includes many carvings and statues as well as a pond and landscaped garden at its entry. Other on-site amenities include a small gift shop, fortune teller and restaurant with a small snack stand.

Kallumalai Arulmigu Subramaniyar Temple
Standing 21 meters high, this seven-tiered temple is located directly in front of looming mountains and limestone cliffs—a breathtaking backdrop to prayer. Founded in 1930, it was most recently renovated in 2010. The temple is located adjacent to the Guan Yin Dan Ba Xian Tong Cave Temple. Built to honor the Lord Murugan, the temple is a location for various festivities throughout the year including Deepavali and Thaipusam.

Masjid Negeri Perak (Sultan Idris Shah II Mosque)
Located near the Birch Memorial Clock Tower and walking distance from Ipoh Station, this mosque was constructed in 1966 and is the largest in Ipoh. Also referred to as the Ipoh State Mosque, it is studded with golden domes and a square minaret. The mosque’s modern aesthetic is further enhanced by its Islamic-style lattice décor. A mini bazaar is located on-site. The mosque is popular with the local community who use it for meditation and weekly prayer services.
