Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra

Based in Kuala Lumpur, the Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra holds its residency at the Petronas Philharmonic Hall. The group is considered one of Asia’s leading orchestras, popular with locals and visitors from around the world. Founded in 1997, the orchestra includes a patron who is the wife of a former Prime Minister of Malaysia. The group has recorded at least 17 unique releases under three labels—a universal success. Visitors can see them perform regularly at their residency hall which includes 920 seats and a royal suite.

Merdekarya

Visitors who seek original live music from Malaysia will enjoy Merdekarya, a venue famous for its homegrown talent. Near-daily performances exist nightly, including many with free admission. The music space offers a full bar stocked with light snacks. Though the spotlight is on up-and-coming artists, visitors will find styles across the musical spectrum including post-rock, blues, folk, acoustic and more.

Kind A Blue Jazz Club & Restaurant

Previously known as KL Jazz Club, this unique venue is housed in the basement of the KL Jazz & Arts Centre. Visitors will find regularly scheduled performances across jazz, Blues, Classic Rock, R&B and other genres. Performers are both local Malay and international talents. Dinner and drinks are available as part of the shows. The venue is combines with the Take 5 Jazz Café, KL City Art Gallery and ‘The Thinker Corner’ to make up the KL Jazz & Arts Centre.
