3D Art Langkawi
With more than 200 works of art covering 21,000 square feet of space, the largest 3D art museum in Malaysia promises hours of fun. Artwork created by local, regional and international artists is painted from wall to ceiling. Here, larger-than-life murals transport visitors to a whole new dimension. Located besides the Langkawi Skybridge Cable Car and Sky Cab station, visitors are spoilt for choice. Expanded in a three-story building, the museum splits into interactive zones animated by themes of fantasy, castles, landscapes, Egyptian and Malay zones, and more. In a moment of mad creativity, visitors can brave a tattered rope bridge, be moments from a shark’s dinner, or go as limp as a puppet on a string. Such genius optical illusions make for fantastic photos, so it is no wonder that this gallery is a firm family favorite for all ages.

Opened in 1987, this art center is focused on handmade Batik, a unique art style that originated in Langkawi. Formed by dipping cloth into dye while encased in wax, Batik is a truly original craft. Museum visitors can wander through a gallery peppered with Batik paintings, handicraft products, clothing and block paintings. The venue also includes an on-site workshop where skilled artisans can be seen working their craft, and which hosts occasional seminars and classes. The center’s effort to preserve this precious part of Malay culture has earned it the recognition of the Malaysian Ministry of Culture, Arts & Heritage.
