The Ayer Hangat Village is one of the oldest attractions on the island, most famous for its salt springs. Its modern cultural complex includes the “Adat Melau” or gallery of Malay Culture. Through this gallery, the village holds frequent performances that reenact the wedding rituals of various Malay ethnicities. While the life of Malaysians is also shared via workshops and performances, including theatrical displays that teach viewers about the country’s multi-cultural heritage.

Malaysia Truly Asia Stage Show
A cultural stage show held at the Aseania Resort & Spa, introduces visitors to the ethnic groups that make up Malaysia. Complete with dinner, the show highlights the arrival of those that immigrated to Malaysia over the decades. Enhanced by song, traditional dance, magic, and even fire shows, cultural performances revisit a timeline spanning centuries. From the initial Indians who arrived for trade, to the influx of Europeans, Chinese and more, the show celebrates the rich identities in Malaysia’s heritage that, when combined, make Langkawi unique.

Pantodra Theater Mahsuri
Located at the Kota Mahsuri, a once abandoned tomb has been reborn as a cultural exhibition space. The venue includes a small stage, museum and exhibition room and is considered a historical relic on Langkawi. The theater itself holds live performances every weekend from 11 am. Though the performances vary, all take a stance on the culture and history of Langkawi, and seek to animate the story of its heritage through dance, music and dramatic performances.
